If you are getting an emergency roadside kit ready, then there are some important things that you should include in it. It doesn't have to be fancy, but you do need to have a First-Aid kit, bottled water, and non-perishable food items in it. You should also have jumper cables, a tow rope, and blankets and hand and foot warmers. You should also have a cell phone and charger, a flashlight, and working batteries. Have flares or reflective triangles, in case you are stranded on a highway or at night. Sand, salt, and cat litter can give you traction on icy patches, and a foldable shovel, windshield washer fluid, and ice scraper are handy to have for those colder days. You may even want to also throw in a can of fix-a-flat. Whatever you want to throw in, by all means; do it. It is always better to be over prepared than underprepared; in any kind of situation.
