Many modernizations have been made over the years in the automotive world. This is also true with your car's engine and the oil that goes in it. For years, the rule was to change the oil every 3,000 miles. With today's modern engines and synthetic oil blends, most vehicles can now go 5,000-7,500 miles between oil changes.
This range will obviously depend on the make and model of your vehicle, as well as the manufacturer's recommendations. But increasing the length of time between your oil changes to this range is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
Of course, you can still change the oil every 3,000 miles if that is what you are comfortable with. It definitely can't hurt. But if you do want to see what your auto manufacturer recommends for your vehicle as to its oil change frequency, you can either check your owner's manual or ask one of the experts in our service department here at Stinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM!
